Redwood Bonsai Tree - Medium (metasequoia glyptostroboides)
Practice the Art of Bonsai - The Redwood Bonsai Tree is a native of Manchuria China and one of the most exciting Redwoods. Dawn Redwood was thought to be extinct, but was re-discovered in the 1940's. Seeds were introduced in the United States in 1948 and has become a popular ornamental tree. Redwoods are a living fossil, isolated "relic" species from long ago. Foliage is more lace like than our native Redwood, but it is deciduous. In the fall the light green sprays turn yellow, then bronze and then fall off.
