World Ocean Day is June 8th and the theme this year is Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean to protect at least 30% of our lands, waters, and ocean by 2030 (30x30). Click here to sign a petition.
To create a healthy ocean with abundant wildlife and to stabilize the climate, it’s critical that 30% of our planet’s lands, waters, and ocean are protected.
Over 70% of our planet is ocean and our oceans produce over 70% of the oxygen we breathe so it is imperative to protect our oceans in order to protect ourselves and every living species on our beautiful planet.
Conscious consumers make a difference, here are a few tips we can all do to keep our oceans clean for generations:
- Purchase items made from recycled materials
- Carry your own bag when shopping
- Look for alternatives to single use items
- Repurpose glass jars and containers
